What are slides?

My grandparents told me how people used to gather around a carousel slide projector to share their memories. That was so old school! Nowadays, we can share our pics instantly with anyone, anywhere.

But, we can’t forget about the good old memories captured on slides! That’s why it’s super important to convert slides to digital. That way, we can preserve them for generations to come without worrying about them fading or getting damaged.

Plus, by transferring slides to digital, we can easily share them with our friends and family, no matter where they are in the world. So, let’s not let our memories fade away – slide scanning will keep them alive and kicking!

Slide Scanning FAQs

We specialize in converting slides to digital, whether you’ve got 35mm photo slides from the ‘60s or more recent ones. Our slide scanning service transforms those old memories into high-quality digital photos you can view, share, and back up easily.

Over time, slides can fade, get dusty, or even warp. Transferring slides to digital helps protect those memories from damage—and makes them so much easier to view, share, and preserve for future generations.

We can digitize slides in a variety of formats, including 35mm (135), 126, 110 (both 2″x2″ and 1″x1″ mounts), as well as positive and negative slides. If you’re not sure what format you have, no problem—send us a photo or bring them by, and we’ll help you figure it out.

Some customers organize the photos by date, event, or family and put them in Ziploc bags or envelopes. When you bring an organized collection, we can scan them in organized folders on the USB we give you.

We offer a few options for delivering your digital files. Our top recommendation is a 64GB USB—it’s reliable, long-lasting, and easy to share with friends or family. We also offer digital downloads via a secure cloud link, or we can burn your files to a DVD if you prefer. Just choose what works best for you!

We use professional-grade equipment that captures each slide at high resolution (3200 DPI) and converts them to crisp, clear digital photo files. You’ll get back sharp JPGs that are easy to store and view.

Our standard format is high-resolution JPG, which works great for viewing, printing, or sharing. If you need another format (like TIFF or PNG), we can do that on request.

We charge a flat per-slide rate, and the more slides you send, the better the price. For an accurate, instant estimate, try our conversion calculator.

If you organize your slides into groups—like vacations, years, or events—and label them, we’ll match that organization when we create your digital folders.

We scan photo slides at 3200 DPI, which produces a digital image of around 14 megapixels. That’s plenty of detail for viewing, archiving, or printing.

Yes, we scan both negative slides and positive slides.

If a slide looks visually dusty, we gently dust it before scanning to help reduce spots or debris in the final image. That said, we recommend giving your slides a quick dusting before dropping them off—this helps ensure the best possible quality for your digitized photos.

We do basic corrections like adjusting color, contrast, and brightness where needed. If your slides are severely damaged or faded, we’ll do our best to improve them, but we don’t offer full photo restoration services.

Of course! Once the scanning is complete, we return all your original slides along with your digital files on USB or as a downloadable link.

Yes! Even though we’re based in Saskatoon, we offer our slide scanning service Canada-wide. If you’re searching “convert slides to digital near me,” we’re just a mailbox away.
